Yamalube Schrader’s SMX Racing Announces Team for 2011

Yamalube Schrader’s SMX Racing is pleased to announce it’s racing team for the 2011 season.  Shawn Maffenbeier, from Swift Current Saskatchewan, will be returning and will compete in the MX1 class riding aboard a Yamaha 450F. Denaye Giroux , from Yorkton Saskatchewan, will be back to challenge in the Women’s National series aboard her Yamaha 250F.

“Shawn has been in California training since January,” said owner/manager Randy Maffenbeier. “His commitment and his potential to continually improve makes it easy for us to keep supporting Shawn in his goals.” Shawn finished 12th overall in the 2010 Monster Energy Canadian Nationals and was Canada’s 4th fastest Canadian. He will be running the number 23 plate for the 2011 season. “ I’m looking forward to the coming race season,” said Shawn. “ The training and coaching I’ve done with PerformX has given me the peak physical conditioning and the mental training that I need to meet the challenges ahead. “

“We’re very excited that Denaye is back with us again this season, “ said owner/manager Jackie Maffenbeier. “ She has spent some time training in California this season and is already competing in the Saskatchewan Provincial Series successfully.” Denaye finished 2nd. overall in the CMRC Women’s Western division and 8th overall in the Women’s 2010 National Series. “After a disappointing end to the season last year due to injury, I’m especially determined to be better and stronger for 2011 as I go for my goal of the number 1 plate,” said Denaye. “Having the continued support of a premier team such as the Yamalube Schrader’s SMX Racing Team makes it easier for me to concentrate on my job.”
